Train Smash

I felt compelled to share this dish I got from my wife because in the 7 years we have been together this is one of the only two meals I have ever seen her make. Now you know why I cook: I was driven by starvation…

Think of this as those nasty little caterpillars, you all know the ones I am talking about,  the fugly ones with all the spikes that stick if you touch them. Well, even those nasty little suckers turn into something that is a beauty to behold when spring has sprung. Add to this the fact that now instead of eating plants they have taken on the role of plant  “sex therapist”. Their sole purpose in nature is essentially to have sex with each and every single plant they encounter and manage to insert their proboscis’  into, thus ensuring plant reproduction. That is until it gets eaten of course, another useful purpose. “Thank you Lord for letting us be at the top of the food chain.” So you now understand that it’s called “train smash” for a reason, because that’s what it looks like. But this roll changes role after the first bite. It has now transformed into a tasty, useful and quick meal.

Picture this, you’re on your way to hit the clubs and the taxi is already downstairs waiting, but you took so long to make yourself  look good you forgot to fill your stomach with something…you could still make it. That’s how quick it is to make. In a microwave it would take, oh….about 45 seconds and however long it would take to cut a hot dog roll in half.

Hotdog Rolls
Cheese Grillers
 1 Tin Tomato Onion mix (If you are in a rush, otherwise make your own)
Olive Oil


Set your stove plate to medium, pour a little olive oil  in a pan and add the cheese grillers as soon as they are brown add the tomato onion mix and let it simmer for 2 mins. Cut the rolls and place the grillers in the roll, pour the tomato mix over the roll. Enjoy the quickie.
